This project aims to encapsulate the essence of the present era and bridge the gap between generations within a time capsule, intended to be opened in 100 years.
This enquiry involves documenting “nowness” through “building blocks of civilisation in 2024” using tangible and virtual items. The capsule intends to guide the viewer through the complex feelings of living in a space that is technologically advanced yet longs for the analogue. Establishing this balance between the past and the present proposes the idea of liminal space and living in the in-between.
The blocks are split into 4 insights. 3 blocks are personalised with found objects and a statement from Generation Z about the present and 1 block represents the perspectives of those from Generation Y.
